Shanna Wedekemper
founder, expert stylist
-
Shanna Wedekemper entered the beauty industry almost by accident, but her fascination with transformation began much earlier. Before hair, she imagined a future in aesthetics, working alongside plastic surgeons and dermatologists, and even earlier than that, she was drawn to fashion, interiors, and the feeling thoughtfully designed spaces can create. She has always been interested in the way beauty shapes experience.
She began her career in 2007 and has spent nearly two decades studying techniques from both coasts and internationally, working alongside leading artists and refining a signature approach to extensions and dimensional color that feels effortless, modern, and quietly luxurious.
Today, she brings that perspective to Anagen Atelier—an intentionally calm, elevated salon environment that attracts creatives, professionals, and public-facing individuals who value discretion as much as exceptional work.
Her work is guided by a simple intention: to create a level of beauty culture and experience that feels considered, refined, and quietly ahead of what is typically expected.
-
From London Fashion week with Jon Reyman, to intimate color classes with Michelle Zeller, Dominick Serna, Johnny Ramirez, Natalie Mcnell, Marissa Larson and Monique McMahon. Shanna is continually growing her knowledge and experience base. She remains deeply engaged in ongoing education and mentorship within both the technical and business sides of the industry, continually refining her work through collaboration with leading artists, educators, and coaches.
-
Shanna is sought out by both clients and stylists for her meticulous attention to detail, refined aesthetic, and depth of technical knowledge in extensions and dimensional color. She is certified in both Natural Beaded Rows and Line One K-tip extension methods, with a particular focus on creating seamless, long-wearing results that feel natural and tailored to each individual.
Her work includes sourcing and preparing raw Slavic hair by hand when requested, custom-crafting keratin-tipped extensions to match texture, tone, and movement with exceptional precision. This level of customization allows for installations that are virtually undetectable and uniquely suited to the client.
Her approach blends artistry, structure, and material expertise, resulting in hair that feels effortless, elevated, and lasting

Dason Van Oppen
I began my career in a luxury salon space, sharpened it in a highly creative space, and refined it into something more intentional: elevated, effortless hair designed for real life..
My path into the industry didn’t follow the traditional route. I started at the front desk of an Aveda salon in West County and was selected for an apprenticeship instead of cosmetology school; an immersive, one-on-one education shaped by Aveda, Redken, Pivot Point, Matrix, and Toni & Guy. That foundation instilled a deep respect for technique, precision, and timeless hairdressing.
I specialize in color with a strong focus on formulation, creating nuanced reds and coppers, believable blondes, and rich, dimensional brunettes. I also work extensively with textured and curly hair, as well as short, tailored cuts. My approach to cutting is sculptural and intentional: removing what’s unnecessary to reveal something striking, modern, and quietly powerful.
Luxury, to me, isn’t about excess—it’s about ease. My goal is to create hair that looks elevated without effort, something you can live in, move in, and recreate daily with confidence.
My work has taken me from behind the chair to editorial and television sets, backstage at runway shows, and into community spaces like the inaugural Children’s Hospital Prom. No matter the setting, the intention is the same: to make people feel undeniably like themselves—at their best.
Outside of the salon, I grow dahlias, read obsessively, cook often, and stay curious. Inspiration is everywhere and I bring that back into my work.

Maddie Gifford
Maddie Gifford grew up in the beauty industry as the daughter of a salon owner and knew from a young age that becoming a hairstylist was exactly what she wanted to do. She fell in love with the creativity, connection, and magic she experienced while spending countless hours in her mother’s salon.
Since beginning her career in 2009, Maddie has loved creating beautiful hair, helping women feel their best, and building lasting relationships with her clients. Specializing in blonding, custom color, and hair extensions, she believes a salon appointment should feel just as good as the results.
Passionate about continuing her education, Maddie is always eager to travel, learn new techniques, and challenge herself creatively. Learning fuels both her passion and confidence behind the chair, and she loves that this industry is always evolving.
As a mom of two little girls, she hopes to show them that it’s never too late to chase a dream and build a life they love.
